Laughter and Wonder at Magic Show

Smiles and laughter were conjured up during a magic event to celebrate a society’s 75th anniversary.

It took place at Rhyl’s Botanical Gardens and was hosted by the North Wales Magic Circle (NWMC).

As well as puppets  and entertainers there were also bubbles galore.

The circle also held its annual children’s entertainer competition and Mr Magico – real name Eddie Hughes – was crowned the winner.

Janet Newman-Carty, president-elect and secretary of the NWMC said: “The afternoon went really well. The botanical gardens put up a marquee and we managed to get everyone under cover.

“We were really happy with the amount of visitors. There was a good turnout.

“Everyone enjoyed what was on offer, including Punch and Judy, balloon models, bubbles and the competition.

“Mr Magico was a deserving  winner. He is very traditional in his craft.”

This was a free event. Money was raised for three children’s charities including Happy Faces, T Gobaith and Chernobyl Children.

A hat-trick of newspaper articles

We’ve been featured three times in this week’s Rhyl Journal, on three consecutive pages!

Article from the Rhyl Journal titled "Magic in the gardens for 75th anniversary"

On page 31, there’s an article about the North Wales Magic Circle’s 75th anniversary, and the event that we’re holding in the Botanical Gardens in Rhyl to celebrate. There’s more information in our previous blog post.

Article from the Rhyl Journal titled "Archery and medieval knights liven up festival"

On page 32 there’s a feature on the recent Medieval Festival in Gwrych Castle, near Abergele.  We’ll be posting a blog soon with pictures from the event.

Article from the Rhyl Journal titled "'Great escape' event is just magic"

Finally, on page 33 there’s coverage of The Greatest Show on Turf, an event in Prestatyn that featured escapology, hula hooping, and circus skills. Again, look out for an upcoming post with photos. You can also read the full article on the Rhyl Journal website.

Halloween Show, End of Season Party, and the Welshfactor Final

We’ve been up to quite a bit over the last few weeks, so here’s a quick look at some of the things we’ve been doing.

First was a Halloween show at a garden centre. We were with HTC Entertainments & Events, as well as a giant pirate!

And yesterday evening we were a guest act at the North Wales Welshfactor final, at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl. (We didn’t get any photographs of our performance, but thought you might like to see some backstage views instead.)
